Adventure Bunny Rabbit Hopping was born in 2013, sparked by a simple question from my daughter: “Can I try rabbit hopping?” At the time, I had no idea what that even meant. But once we discovered the sport, we quickly realized how hard it was to find proper rabbit hopping equipment. That’s when we reached out to a local woodworking family
Adventure Bunny Rabbit Hopping was born in 2013, sparked by a simple question from my daughter: “Can I try rabbit hopping?” At the time, I had no idea what that even meant. But once we discovered the sport, we quickly realized how hard it was to find proper rabbit hopping equipment. That’s when we reached out to a local woodworking family. The three talented brothers designed the ideal jump—compact, portable, and built to last. As the founder of Adventure Bunny Rabbit Hopping, I also served as chair of the rules committee for the American Hopping Association, ARBA’s national hopping club. In that role, I collaborated with rabbit agility training and agility experts from across the globe—Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the U.S.—to develop safety standards and competition rules that align with international best practices. Rabbit hopping and rabbit agility training are distinct sports, primarily differentiated by the rabbit hopping equipment involved. Rabbit hopping features only hurdles, focusing on crooked courses and straight jumping challenges. In contrast, rabbit agility incorporates hurdles along with a variety of contact and non-contact obstacles. These may include an A-Frame, Bridge, Pause Box, See Saw (or Teeter Totter), Tire Jump, and Tunnel—creating a more dynamic and complex course that is celebrated within the rabbit sports community.
